Sold-Out Celebration Event Marks Milestone Year for Leading Local Nonprofit
DELRAY BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, March 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Roots and Wings, the largest local nonprofit focused on literacy and teacher recognition, marked a major milestone with its sold-out 10th Anniversary “Roots and Wings Goes To Hollywood” Gala on February 24. Held at Good Night John Boy in downtown Delray Beach, the event welcomed 150 supporters and raised $385,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, donations, and auction purchases.
The celebratory evening honored a decade of impact for the nonprofit across Palm Beach County schools. In attendance were community leaders, educators, philanthropists, and longtime supporters, who gathered to champion Roots and Wings’ mission of strengthening literacy outcomes and recognizing exceptional teachers.
“This milestone is about more than celebrating ten years. It’s about recognizing the thousands of students and educators whose lives have been impacted through this work,” said Ted Hoskinson, Founder of Roots and Wings. “Seeing a sold-out room of supporters rally behind literacy and teacher recognition reinforces just how deeply our community values education.”
Gala guests enjoyed an evening inspired by classic Hollywood glamour, complete with themed décor, entertainment, and heartfelt program moments highlighting student success stories and the life-changing work of Project UpLift and The Above and Beyond Awards. Enthusiastic participation helped propel fundraising efforts beyond expectations.
Since its founding in 2016, Roots and Wings has steadily expanded its reach, now collaborating with 20 Title 1 schools and serving approximately 1,600 students through targeted literacy programming and teacher recognition initiatives. The funds raised will directly support Project UpLift’s small-group tutoring model and the continued growth of The Above and Beyond Awards.
